Take a step back and refresh your memories of life as depicted by Lucy Maud Montgomery when we discuss her novel, RILLA OF INGLESIDE.   All club members are welcome to join us on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:00 pm.  Also reminding you that we will meet on Tues. June 7th to select the novels for 2016-17.  

 

 

APRIL, 2016

Our Canada Reads April selection is And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini.  Join us at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5th.  For added enjoyment, why not sign up for the hot lunch available at noon that day. Menus are under EVENTS. All members are welcome to join our discussions.

 

MARCH, 2016

And The Birds Rained Down by Jocelyne Saucier is our book selection for Tuesday, March 1st, at 1:00 pm.  Join us as we discuss two octogenarians living out the rest of their lives on their own terms! 

Our April 5th book will be  And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

 


FEBRUARY, 2016

    On Tuesday, February 2, at 1:00 pm Muriel Smith willpresent the novel, Mr. Jones, by  Winnipeg author Margaret Sweatman.  All club members are welcome to participate in this book club. Looking forward to our lively discussions.

  ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE by  Anthony Doerr and presented by Marg Cuddy is an apt title for welcoming 2016 on Jan. 5th at 1:00 pm. 

 

DECEMBER, 2015

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the members of the Contemporary Literature Book Club.                                                                                                                     Please join us on Tues. Dec. 1st at 1:00 pm to review and discuss Jane Urquhart’s novel NIGHT STAGES presented by Barb Sparling.  

            

NOVEMBER, 2015

The informal chat and lunch on October 6th produced an excellent list of good reads.  This list and the list of novels for 2015-16 can be picked up at the mailbox for the Contemporary Literature Book Club across from the Office.  On Nov. 3 at 1:00 pm Alison Darling will lead the discussion on the novel Us Conductors by Sean Michaels.  We’re looking forward to our lively interpretations of a novel.

The book for December is Night Stages by Jane Urquhart.
