SEPTEMBER, 2016 MONDAY EVENING BOOK CLUB LIST FOR 2016-17 First Mon. at 7:30 pm
October 3 Life After Life by Kate Atkinson Anne Dunlop
November 7 Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë Céline Kear
December 5 All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr Ellen Peel
February 6 Madame Bovary by Gustav Flaubert Catherine Holmes
March 6 Changing Heaven by Jane Urquhart Hilda Wagstaffe
April 3 Penelope Fitzgerald: A Life by Kate Atkinson Phyllis Watson
May 1 The Illegals by Lawrence Hill Shelagh Marchenski
We thought we should do a French book for a change (Madame Bovary by Flaubert - in English! ). We also thought we should make a nod at least to the Brontës - 2016 being the 200th anniversary of Charlotte Brontë's birth. Hence the choice Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë and Changing Heaven by Jane Urquhart which features Emily's ghost on Haworth Moor! All members are most welcome to come along to our lively discussions.
